Pastor Doug Townley

Born in Lakeland, FL August 17, 1956, I met my wife Elaine, in 9th grade at Mulberry High School

My education background is; Associate in Arts, Polk Community College, 1976; Bachelor of Science, Florida Southern College, 1982; Master of Business Administration, Florida Southern College, 1990; Master of Divinity, Duke University, 1999

My spiritual gifts are administration and preaching. I became a Christian
singing “Just As I Am” in a little Baptist Church.

My favorites:
Movie: “The Toy Story”
Worship song: “I Sing Praises”
TV show: CSI
Food: everything, except liver and onions and asparagus
Book of the Bible: 1 John

I spend my spare time reading and sleeping.   I feel God is presently teaching me to enjoy the present moment in my life; don’t beat myself up over the past and don’t worry about tomorrow.

My first job was working at Montgomery Ward in the garden center, 1972-1974, My prized possession; I don’t think about possessions this way, and my most annoying habit, after explaining something to someone to follow up with the question “Does that make sense?”

The best gift received: Love, friendship and marriage with my wife Elaine.

I’d appreciate prayer for continued passion and strength for the
work of being a pastor to Christ’s Church.
